Hydro
Excavation

Non-destructive digging using high-pressure water and powerful industrial vacuum. Expose underground utilities, dig precision pits and trenches — without damaging the infrastructure that lies beneath. Safer than mechanical excavation, faster than hand-digging.

What Is Hydro Excavation

A Surgical
Approach to Digging

Hydro excavation combines two industrial systems: a focused high-pressure water jet that liquefies soil into slurry, and a powerful vacuum that immediately extracts that slurry into a contained debris tank. The result is precise, non-destructive excavation that protects everything around the dig zone — pipes, cables, fibre, roots, foundations.

01

Utility Safe

Water cannot damage buried pipes, cables, or fibre optics the way mechanical buckets and augers do. Strike risk drops to near zero.

02

Precision Profile

Excavate exact shapes — narrow trenches, post holes, key-hole inspection pits — without overcut or wasted backfill.

03

All-Weather

Effective in frozen, hard-pan, rocky or compacted soils where conventional methods struggle or stall completely.

04

Contained Spoil

All excavated material is vacuumed directly into a sealed debris tank — no piles, no contamination, no cleanup.

The Process

How We Execute
An Excavation

Every excavation follows a documented, repeatable workflow — site survey, controlled execution, contained spoil management, and clean handover.

Stage 01

Site Survey & Utility Mapping

Drawings reviewed, scanners run, dig zone marked. We confirm the area is suitable for hydrovac work and identify everything underground.

Stage 02

Equipment Setup & Safety Brief

Hydrovac unit positioned, exclusion zone barricaded, PPE confirmed. Operators run a pre-start checklist on water pressure, vacuum, and boom.

Stage 03

Controlled Water Jetting

Operator directs a high-pressure water wand to break up soil layer by layer at the depth required, never beyond it.

Stage 04

Continuous Vacuum Extraction

Slurry is drawn into the debris tank in real time. The hole stays clear and visible throughout the operation.

Stage 05

Documentation & Handover

Photographs, depth records, and utility-exposure notes provided. Site cleaned and returned ready for the next trade.

Where We Deploy

Real-World Applications

Hydro excavation is the right call wherever underground assets matter — and on most modern sites, they always do.

Safer.
Cleaner.
Smarter.

Mechanical excavation is fast — until it isn't. A single strike on a buried utility costs days of downtime, fines, and reputational damage. Hydrovac eliminates that risk while delivering a cleaner, more accurate excavation.

Frequently Asked

Common Questions

How deep can hydrovac excavate? +
Standard depths up to 6m are routine for our hydrovac units. Deeper excavations are possible with extended boom and hose configurations — discuss your scope with our team during the site assessment.
Is hydrovac safe for live electrical cables? +
Yes. Water under controlled pressure does not damage cable insulation the way mechanical tools do, making hydrovac the preferred method for exposing live HV and LV infrastructure safely.
What soil types can you handle? +
Sand, clay, loam, gravel, compacted fill, and most weathered rock can all be excavated. Truly solid rock requires conventional breakers — we'll advise during survey if any portion of your dig falls outside hydrovac's effective range.
Where does the extracted material go? +
Spoil is held in our sealed debris tank and transported to an approved disposal or reuse facility. We handle the full waste manifest so your site stays clean and your records stay tidy.
Do you operate outside Ernakulam? +
Yes — HYVAX serves Ernakulam and surrounding districts across Kerala. Contact us with your site location and we'll confirm coverage and mobilisation timing.
